Seventh Regiment Armory, $20) will feature a rich mix of antiques and fine art—even though the show started in 1989. Organizer Meg Wendy partnered with the Fine Art Dealers Association (FADA) in 2005, creating a “show within a show.” Spanierman Gallery (New York) and Rehs Galleries (New York) are among the 17 participating art dealers, 12 of whom are FADA members. Fifty-five antiques dealers, including Bernard Steinitz (Paris) and Royal Athena Gallery (New York) will participate. Antiques still are the show’s main focus, though many also will display fine art. “This is a wonderful show of high-end art and antiques, but still there are things for everyone’s tastes and price at the show,” says show director Meg Wendy.
Art & Antiques’ chief correspondent Brook Mason will give a walking tour of the show’s offerings for Art & Antiques: The New Asset Class. “I will be targeting the blue-chip, the style-setters and what’s undervalued in this fast-paced market at a number of international dealers,” Mason says. In addition to American and European artworks and prints, jewelry, clocks, silver and carpets are some of the many items available for purchase. For more information, call 914.698.3442 or visit
